The rate and degree of fading will vary from person to person depending on the tattoo itself, lifestyle, and environmental factors. Darker pigment colours used in eyeliners (e.g. black and dark browns) are more resistant to fading. Sun exposure, facial treatments, exfoliants, etc. will cause faster fading.

Eyeliner has the best longevity out of the permanent makeup procedures. Due to the darker colour used as well as location, it is not uncommon for eyeliner to last 10 years plus. However, a colour enhancement may be wanted to keep the tattoo looking its best.

Topical anesthetics and cold therapy are used to help create the most comfortable cosmetic tattooing experience for our clients. Eyeliner and Eyelash Enhancement clients typically feel minimal to mild discomfort. Many describe it as a tolerable pressure or a vibration sensation.

The eyelid has the thinnest skin on the entire body therefore it responds readily to trauma.

Bleeding is expectied to be minimal to none. Factors that will affect bleeding will be discussed in length at your consultation or prior to your procedure appointment.

Bruising is normal but does not happen to every client. If you normally bruise easily you may be more prone to bruise during your eye appointment. Bruising is always minimal and only located in the area of the tattoo.

Swelling is normal as it is the body’s natural response to trauma. The degree of swelling will vary from person to person. A good indicator to determine if you will have a lot of swelling is to think about how your eyes react after heavy crying. Those who swell after crying will most likely swell after their procedure. Cold therapy during and after your eye appointment to help reduce swelling.

Eye appointments are typically 1.5 to 2 hours long. During this time forms are completed, colour and style are discussed, the area is then numbed with topical anesthetics, and then tattooing begins.

Eye micropigmentation heal very fast. The procedure site is healed within 7-10 days with final healed results showing after 28 days. The final healed result will typically be approximately 40% smaller than what the eyeliner looks like immediately after the appointment.

Procedure Day - Eyes may have redness, bruising, and swelling

Day 2 - Day 5 - Eyeliner will appear darker and thicker, crust will appear

Day 6 – Day 9 - Eyeliner will begin to shed crust

Day 10 – Day 14 - Eyeliner will appear faint, little colour shows

Day 14 – Day 28 - Eyeliner colour re-emerges

Post Secondary Appointment - Eyeliner will be consistent colour and thickened to perfection!

There are several medical and lifestyle factors that can contraindicate permanent make-up. Many of these factors are listed here.

Two important considerations to ensure a successful eyeliner or eyelash enhancement procedure are:

• Remove all eyelash extensions prior to your appointment or allow us to allot extra time for removal prior to your eye service. Our Artist is also trained in eyelash extensions and removals. Additional fees will apply for eyelash extension removals.

• Discontinue use of lash growth serums for a minimum 12 weeks prior to your appointment. Lash growth serums can cause increased capillary formation which can lead to unwanted pigment migration during the procedure. Plan to avoid lash growth serums until AFTER secondary appointment healing period.
